Juvederm
Juvederm is one of the newest generation of Hyaluronic Acid Fillers and the most popular one. Juvederm fillers are used to replace volume loss that occur with aging.
Why Juvederm?
Juvederm family has several different options of dermal fillers. The choice of a particular type of Juvederm dermal filler depends on its rheological properties. A Hyaluronic acid filler with high viscoelasticity like Juvederm Voluma provides more lifting effect and hence it is ideal choice for the replacement of midface and lower face volume loss.
How long will the treatment session take?
The treatment with Juvederm is a simple process. The entire consult usually takes twenty to thirty minutes depending on how many areas need to be treated. You will notice mild swelling for one to two days after the Juvederm injection. You may also notice slight bruising and discomfort. New generation Juvederm fillers contain a numbing medicine called Lidocaine which helps reduce the amount of pain during injection. In addition, we are using numbing cream and blunt tip cannulas for injection of Juvederm dermal fillers to minimize the risk of swelling, bruising and discomfort.
What should I do prior to the treatment?
Please avoid taking aspirin, ibuprofen or other non steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines, St.John’s wort and high dose vitamin E one week prior to the Juvederm injections. If you have active Herpes infection or bacterial infection at the site of injection, we will ask you to delay the Juvederm treatment until the infection has completely resolved. In patients with a pre-existing history of Herpes Simplex infections, we suggest starting your anti-viral medication two days before the Juvederm treatment to avoid any outbreaks.
What other treatments are typically used with dermal fillers?
Frequently, our patients will also receive Xeomin or Botox treatment at the same time to soften the dynamic wrinkles caused by movement such as frowning or squinting. The combination treatments usually provide more smooth, youthful, and long lasting results. Please, feel free to ask any questions you may have during your consultation. Radiesse
Radiesse is a unique biphasic dermal filler. It is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in carboxymethylcellulose gel. Overtime, the gel gets absorbed, and calcium hydroxylapatite is metabolized, leaving behind the body’s own natural collagen. Radiesse maintains a very soft, natural feel while restoring volume.
What is Calcium Hydroxylapatite?
Calcium Hydroxylapatite is a natural constituent of bones, hence Radiesse does not require allergy testing. Radiesse is a non-surgical treatment that is safe and effective.
Why Radiesse?
Radiesse has the highest viscoelasticity of all dermal fillers. This property makes Radiesse an excellent choice for lifting and contouring. Radiesse is effectively used for the contouring of nose, chin and cheeks, correction of acne scars, and replacement of volume loss in cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and hands. Radiesse is very durable and can last up to two years. Therefore, Radiesse is rightly called an implant rather than a filler.
How long will the treatment session take?
The treatment with Radiesse is a simple process. The entire consult usually takes thirty to forty minutes depending on how many areas need to be treated. You will notice mild swelling for one to two days after the Radiesse injection. You may also observe mild bruising and discomfort. Radiesse contains a numbing medicine called Lidocaine which helps reduce the amount of pain during injection. We use blunt tip cannulas for injection of Radiesse to minimize the risk of swelling, bruising and discomfort. Unlike other dermal fillers, Radiesse is visible on X-rays and other imaging modalities, e.g, CT scan, PET scan etc.
